Another way to block your computer or even your whole network is using a dns forwarding.
When you apply internet connection to Internet Service Provider(ISP) you will be directly given a DNS server from ISP.... Unfortunately DNS server that you got from your ISP doesn't has a proxy for blocking internet content. ISP always allow any web page to be opened by your network.
OPenDNS is a free dns server that can give you free service for navigating your internet traffic. Just register your network and point your DNS to OpenDNS. OpenDNS has many functionality, including here adult site blocking, Phishing Protection, Domain Blocking and many more.
I have ever tried it and running good, many web pages those give porn or adult material could be blocked strictly.
